With recharged energy, it was just the right time to take a step towards enhancing the management and leadership skills of the students. In order to cultivate a sense of responsibility and the power to be disciplined, the member of the Student Council and the School Cabinet assembled in the school hall to be sworn in during the Investiture Ceremony held at DPS Pinjore on 22nd July, 2017. Mr. Amol Arora, Member Managing Committee, DPS Pinjore &Vice-Chairman Shemrock & Shemford group of schools was the Chief Guest on this prestigious occasion. Dr. D.R. Arora, Chairman, DPS Pinjore and Dr.(Mrs.) B. Arora , Member Managing Committee, DPS Pinjore graced the occasion as guests of honour. Welcoming the proud parents of the School Council and Cabinet, the Principal Ms. Amita Dhaka advised the new members to work selflessly for the welfare of the institution.

Ritvik Katoch and Anushka Goyal were inducted as the School Head Boy and Head Girl respectively. In the Student Council Jatin Sharma and Inika Bardolai were selected as Vice-Head Boy and Vice-Head Girl. Parth Sharma was selected as Sports Captain (Boy), Himanshi Marwah as Sports Captain (Girl). Tanisha Rishi, Deepinder Gupta, Jasleen Kundan, Navjeet Kaur were selected as House Captains of Ganga, Yamuna, Jhelum and Sutlej House respectively while Sahil Sharma , Ajita Agnihotri, Yuvraj Singh , Kushaal Sangwan were selected as House Vice-Captains of Ganga, Yamuna, Jhelum and Sutlej House respectively. Shreyansh Jain was selected as Discipline Captain(Boy) and Aastha Chopra as Discipline Captain(Girl), Harsh Vardhan as Discipline Vice-Captain(Boy), Nishita Goyal as Discipline Vice-Captain(Girl), Binamra Upreti     as Cultural Captain (Boy), Tanya Sharma as Cultural Captain (Girl), Akshi Chauhan as Cultural Vice-Captain, Nidhi Patil as Cultural Vice-Captain.

In the Student Cabinet Muskan Mor was elected as School Minister, Head of the School Cabinet. Sambhav Monga was elected as Health Minister, Somya Sharma as HRD Minister, Prabhjot Singh as Sports Minister, Pawan Yadav as Environment Minister, Harshika Dalal as Discipline Minister and Sudiksha Kapila as Cultural Minister. Ishan Sharma, Armaan Demonte, Sharanya Purkayastha, Dipayan, Shivansh Sharma, Mehul Sharma, Rishi Verma, Prasham Sharma, Sania Khan were elected as class representatives of their respective classes.

Congratulating the sworn in members Mr. Amol Arora, the chief guest advised them to be passionate about whatever they do, be creative and make a vision board for themselves, look at it everyday and aspire for it. One day they will surely reach their goal.

Mrs. Arora congratulated all the members of Student council and student cabinet and their proud parents. She exhorted the students that good leadership comes with lots of responsibilities. Do your duties, listen to your inner voice, be a role model for others and have a positive outlook.

Meritorious Students of DPS Pinjore felicitated

Another sparkling feather was added in the cap of DPS Pinjore when the toppers of classes 10th and 12th were honored by the Mrs. Latika Sharma, MLA Kalka Constituency in an award ceremony organized by the District Education Department. It was a proud moment for Mounil, Rajveer, Deepanshi of class 10th and Sahil Sharma, Divyam Dhaka, Radhika Gupta of Non-Medical Stream, Vritti Piplani, Nitin Kundlas, Abhishek Kumar of Medical Stream, Nishtha Saini, Raghav Dewan and Keshav Aggarwal of Commerce Stream, Ishaan Wadhwa, Arshnoor Singh Bawa, Luvya Arora of Humanities Stream  of class 12 when they were honoured with medals and certificates for their meritorious performance in CBSE Board exams. Principal Mrs. Amita Dhaka congratulated all the students for their achievement.


The week -long celebration of “Tree Plantation Week” concluded with “Skill Saturday” at DPS Pinjore. The theme of  the day was ‘Go Green’. Students participated in a variety of activities like planting of saplings of herbs and vegetables in the school’s herbal and kitchen garden, recitation of poems in praise of nature, collage making to spread the message of “Grow More Trees”. A documentary on keeping the environment clean and green was shown. An informative workshop on Urban Gardening was also conducted. The students came  dressed up in green T-shirts and blue jeans. The Principal Mrs. Amita Dhaka told the students about the importance of trees and encouraged them to grow more trees.

DPS Pinjore observed 19th National Technology Day to commemorate the successful carrying out of the nuclear test at Pokhran in Rajasthan. An informative assembly comprising of speeches, poems, amazing facts related to the significance of the day was conducted. A highly interactive ‘TECH QUIZ’ was organized by the Computer Department to mark the day. Various teams representing four different Houses namely Ganga, Yamuna, Sutlej and Jhelum actively took part in this quiz contest which consisted of En-Gadgets, Visual, Fundamentals of IT, Technology Yamuna House emerged as the proud winner of this coveted quiz. The enthusiasm and zeal of the participants as well as the audience made this event truly memorable and a great learning experience for one and all present.

‘Plant a Tree, plant a new life….

Take care of trees. They take care of you.’

 The school campus of DPS Pinjore echoed with such slogans during the inauguration ceremony of a week long Van-Mahotsav celebrations commencing from 10th July to 15th July in the school . An impressive morning assembly depicting the importance of trees was conducted in the school. Poems, songs, speeches and skits were presented to spread awareness amongst one and all. A special pledge was taken by everyone to go green, save the environment and arrest pollution”. The tree plantation drive was flagged off by the school Principal, Mrs. Amita Dhaka. Everyone participated in this drive.Saplings were planted by the students and the teachers. The purpose of this vision is to catch the children young and help them to appreciate and save the nature, exhorted the school Principal, Mrs. Amita Dhaka.
