Ms. Amita Dhaka, Principal, Delhi Public School, Pinjore has bagged the Star Principal Award on the occasion of Teacher’s Day for her valuable contribution in nation building. Mr. Raman Aneja, District Governor, Rotary Club, in presence of Ms. Suchitra Kaushal, President and All Members of Inner Wheel Club, Kalka Hills ; Sh. Kulbir Singh Rana, President and All Members of Rotary  Club , Pinjore hills presented the award to Ms. Dhaka at a special ceremony held in Pinjore. The award comprises of a citation, a trophy and a shawl.

Ms. Garima Walia, a  lecturer in Biology, DPS Pinjore was also honoured with Best Teacher Award for her contribution in nation building.

‘The impact of a teacher lasts forever’ how true the adage is . The students of DPS Pinjore paid a glowing tribute to their teachers on 5th September. It was an altogether different and a wonderful experience for the teachers who enjoyed the celebrations to the hilt. The day commenced with a special assembly in which students presented poems, speeches, songs and skit to thank their teachers. An impressive cultural show studded with dances, songs and radiant tributes to their mentors and guides was presented by the students.. The students showed their love and gratitude towards their teachers through cards, flowers and lovely titles.Each and every teacher was made to feel special. All the teachers took an oath to become a good teacher and serve the nation in true spirit. The Principal, Ms Amita Dhaka congratulated all  the teachers on this auspicious occasion. Dr. D.R. Arora, Chairman, DPS Pinjore and Dr.(Mrs.) Bimla Arora, Member Management Committee, DPS Pinjore graced the occasion. Mrs.Arora reminded the students about the role of a teacher in everyone’s life She inspired them to always respect their teachers and establish a good rapport with them for an effective teaching and learning process. The cultural bonanza was followed by a sumptuous lunch for the staff.

DPS Pinjore wishes all a Happy Diwali

The festival of light was celebrated with a religious fervor in the school. The senior students of classes 10-12 made beautiful Rangolies to welcome and usher in the Goddess Luxmi and welcome the visitors with various hues. Students of classes 7-9 made Bandanvars to decorate and beautify the doors. Students of classes 3-5 decorated the diyas and candles to add on the festive spirit. Tiny-tots made cards and presented poems on the occasion. A Cultural programme whose highlights were the Diya dance, was appreciated by all. Make this Diwali Pollution free and environment friendly said the Principal Mr. Samson Masih who also wished everyone a happy Diwali. Don’t burst crackers, light diyas and candles instead was the message conveyed on the occasion. Management made the festival very special for everyone by giving attractive gifts to the staff.


January was a short month this year as the state extended the winter vacations till 15th January due to the extreme cold in the region. The rest of the month saw the students busy in their studies while taking part in the following activities.


January 16 To January 20, 2015

Accidents, road rage, flouting of traffic rules have become every day’s news. In order to bring awareness about safety on roads, a week long traffic campaign from January 16 To January 20, 2015, was observed in DPS Pinjore. The theme of the Road Safety Week was “Safety is not just a slogan, it’s a way of life.” Different activities were undertaken during the week. Posters and road safety rules were displayed .On January 16, a special assembly was conducted in which Ms. Sonia Khanna, Coordinator Junior Block, stressed upon the importance of various traffic rules and made the children promise to follow them. Not only this, the class teachers also discussed in details about the methods of road safety in their respective classes. On January 17, an Inter Class Quiz was conducted in all the classes to emphasize the importance of traffic rules. Students enthusiastically took part in the quiz. An essay writing competition was also held on road safety. On January 19 and 20, students were taken on a trip to Traffic Park situated at Sector 12, Panchkula so as to give them first hand information about the traffic rules.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal, Mr. Samson Masih urged the students to follow the traffic rules religiously and make their life as well as others, safe and worth living.


January 22

It’s rightly said if we educate a girl, we educate a family. Keeping it in mind a campaign ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ was launched by PM Narendra Modi, recently.

Many activities were conducted in DPS Pinjore to make the students aware about the campaign. In DPS Pinjore, the day began with special morning assembly dedicated to girl child in which a very inspiring and motivational speech was delivered by Ms. Sonia Khanna, the Coordinator of junior wing where she emphasized on respect and love for girl child. Remarkable poems by students touched everybody’s heart. Many competitions like painting, essay writing and slogan writing were conducted where students showed their creativity and innovation. Mr. Samson Masih, the Principal, hoped that such campaign will bring an awareness in society and help in rooting out the evil of female foeticide.

Heralding the arrival of spring, the season of joy and delight, Basant Panchmi was celebrated in DPS Pinjore with great zeal and exuberance. Special assembly was organized. Saraswati Vandana was recited and speeches were delivered highlighting the importance of this day. Various activities were organized. Principal, Mr. Samson Masih, wished the students to soar and progress in their life like the soaring kites.


January 28, 2015

Lamp of knowledge ceremony was held at DPS, Pinjore on 28th January 2015.The sacred ceremony was held to pass the legacy of hard work, courage, determination and knowledge to the students of class 11.

The ceremony started with the lighting of the auspicious lamp of knowledge by the school principal Mr. Samson Masih. The Principal in his speech told the students of classes 11 and 12 about the significance of the ceremony. He also told the students to pass happiness to the people around them.

Workshop on Robotics

29th to 30th January, 2015.

A two days workshop was conducted by Sparklab Engineering System Pvt. Ltd. in coordination with IIT Kanpur in the school campus on 29th & 30th January, 2015. 89 students from classes 6-11 participated and got benefited from the session. Sessions included history and basics of Robotics along with working models of autonomous robots. Four students from our school brought laurels by breaking through the competition held in the school. They will be participating in the next level to be conducted at IIT Kanpur.

Adieu to Class XII

‘Fair –Thee well in life, May you prove your grit and might, May all your dreams come true in this process,’ these were the heartfelt feelings expressed by the students of class XI who organized a grand party to bid farewell to their seniors of class XII. At 10 O’clock sharp, XI std lined up to extend welcome to their guests with flowers and tilak. The boys looked very handsome in their smartly tailored suits while the girls stole the show looking gorgeous in lovely saris and designer suits. Once everyone was seated after having exchanged the greetings, it was time for the titles which were given highlighting the uniqueness of each individual. The appropriateness of each title invited loud cheer from the gathering. The cultural programme comprising self composed rap and songs were interspersed with delightful modern and traditional dances.

After this, the Principal Mr. Samson Masih addressed the out going class. He said the partings -although inevitable -are not very easy. The tiny-tots grow up to take long flights to the unknown horizons, and we do not realize how time flies. He wished all the students a brilliant success and bright future. He also decorated Simran Chanta and Prabhnoor Singh with the Most well dressed girl and the Most well dressed boy titles respectively. The Most popular girl and the Most popular Boy titles were bagged by Jahnvi Sharma and Jeevansh Machama respectively.

Class Xll thanked their juniors and expressed their gratitude for the school by presenting a lovely card along with the flowers to the Principal. It was now time for everyone to be on the dance floor with the DJ playing their favourite, latest songs. After this a sumptuous lunch was enjoyed by all.


Report on Professional Development in Educational Management

A six day long workshop was attended by Ms Geetu Sharma, HOD, Mathematics from 30th November 2014 to 5thDecember 2014 at DPSS-HRD centre , DPS Dwarka campus New Delhi . It was indeed an enriching experience where a learning platform was created for the professional development of the teachers. The workshop was attended by 55 teachers from various Delhi Public Schools. Importance of working together , understanding each other to follow a common goal was stressed upon . The necessity of skill and competency development in young students was explained using various real life examples. The work shop laid a stress on bridging the gap of 19-20-21 where 20th century teachers using the 19th century curriculum are teaching the 21st century students . The gap can be managed by improving our knowledge of IT and thinking ahead of our students . Safety and security of schools and awareness about POCSO Act 2014 were other key aspects that were explained in a very impressive way . Interaction with Principal , Staff and the students of DPS Noida was a motivating experience . Need of the era is high EQ(emotional quotient) not a high IQ (intelligence quotient) to get well adjusted in the society . The work shop was really an empowering and enriching experience .

May your Christmas be merry, filled with fun and laughter,

These words echoed from every nook and corner of DPS, Pinjore. Christmas fervour and enthusiasm was spread throughout the week long Christmas celebrations commencing from Dec 15th to Dec 20th. The school was abuzz with various competitions and activities like creative writing in the form of poems, articles and slogans, poster and collage making, visit to church, candle decoration, decorating a Christmas tree and the class board. The theme of all these was Christmas. The celebrations concluded with Grand Christmas Celebrations on Dec 22. The students sang melodious carols, gave speeches, presented nativity scene and scintillating dance performances.
