The school campus of DPS Pinjore echoed with such slogans during the inauguration ceremony of a week long Van-Mahotsav celebrations commencing from 10th July to 15th July in the school . An impressive morning assembly depicting the importance of trees was conducted in the school. Poems, songs, speeches and skits were presented to spread awareness amongst one and all. A special pledge was taken by everyone to go green, save the environment and arrest pollution”. The tree plantation drive was flagged off by the school Principal, Mrs. Amita Dhaka. Everyone participated in this drive.Saplings were planted by the students and the teachers. The purpose of this vision is to catch the children young and help them to appreciate and save the nature, exhorted the school Principal, Mrs. Amita Dhaka.

‘My mother, my friend so dear; throughout my life you’re always near’. In order to celebrate the essence of a mother and to let their amazing Moms know how much they appreciate them for their remarkable strength and perseverance, Pinjore Dipsites celebrated Mother’s Day on 13th May, 2017.This special day was celebrated in the school premises with great zeal, enthusiasm and affection. The students welcomed all the mothers with a melodious welcome song. The specially chosen songs, poems and dances showcased mother’s bond with their child. Many fun filled games and competitions like Cook Smart, Craft Smart, Design Smart, Dance Smart and Ramp Walk were organized to bring a smile on beloved mothers’faces. Mothers participated in all the activities with a lot of enthusiasm and joy. The school counsellor Ms. Deepali Handa shared some valuable tips on motherhood so as to make the bond between a mother and a child stronger. Prizes were awarded to the proud winners. On this occasion the students were also honoured with ‘Star Achiever’ certificate for overall academic excellence in the session 2016-17. Dr.(Mrs.) Bimla Arora, member, managing committee, DPS Pinjore, advised the mothers to be proud of our motherland-Bharat Mata and change their life style to go green, go natural and save smart to serve the bigger mother – MOTHER EARTH for our children to live a better life. The Principal Mrs. Amita Dhaka appreciated the efforts of the students and mothers. She wished “Happy Mother’s Day” to all the mothers.

In order to instill democratic values and teach the students the process of elections and the constitution of Parliament, the School Parliamentary elections were held in Delhi Public School, Pinjore. Students of classes VI to XII actively participated in this process. This mega event commenced with the announcement of Elections. Nomination of the candidates was made by the Class Teacher for Classes 6 to 8 and by the House In-Charge for Classes 9 & 10. Campaigning time was given to the elected students during assemblies and in the first period in classes. The students casted their votes for Prime Minister and six Cabinet Ministers. The final verdict of the voters will emerge with the announcement of the results on May 18. The school Principal Ms. Amita Dhaka motivated the members to follow the path of diligence with honesty and perform their duties with utmost sincerity so as to raise the standard of the institution.
Research studies have shown that a student is more likely to benefit if there is an effective coordination between the school and the parents. Keeping this in view, an orientation Programme was conducted to give the Parents of new students an insight of the world renowned DPS system of education and an overview of the teaching methodology adopted at DPS, Pinjore. It was an endeavour to acquaint the parents with annual schedule, examination system, the facilities provided, school rules and regulations and plethora of activities planned for the all-round development of the students. The school counselor discussed various psychological needs of the children. Dr. D.R Arora, Chairman, DPS Pinjore and Dr. (Mrs.) Bimla Arora, Member Managing Committee, DPS Pinjore graced the occasion with their benign presence. Dr. (Mrs.) Arora advised the parents on ways of good parenting. Welcoming the parents, the Principal Ms. Amita Dhaka exhorted on the importance of such sessions which help in bringing about a holistic development of the child.
Delhi Public School, Pinjore has always encouraged and taken various initiatives to provide innovative and creative hands on experiential learning to their students. This approach aims at providing a common platform to all the students and teachers to pursue their natural curiosity, gain experience and give shape to their innovative ideas in various subjects like Science, Commerce, Psychology and many more learning spheres. Joyous children bubbling with energy, talent and creativity celebrated the OPEN DAY, a grand amalgamation of art, talent and creativity with vivacity on 24th Dec, 2016 at DPS Pinjore. The school was abuzz with a plethora of activities. Exhibition of various subjects showcasing students’ creativity, scientific & mathematical skills, computing skills, language skills, artistic skills and sports skills highly impressed the parents who were invited to come, encourage and motivate the students. Vacuum cleaner made up of discarded bottle, washing machine run by pedaling bicycle, automatic magnetic power saving street lights, project on global warming, seven wonders of the world and laser technology based automatic security system were the highlight of Science exhibition. They were competent enough to be a building block for a would be start up. The ‘Circus’ and ‘Save Nature’ display by the tiny tots stole the heart of one and all present besides strongly conveying the message of protecting animals and nature. The newly added 3D Science lab, Synthetic skating rink, badminton and lawn tennis court were the centre of attraction for the visitors.Felicitation ceremony was held in the school to decorate those who had been meritorious in academics and other co-curricular activities. An impressive cultural programme with Christmas fervour and enthusiasm marked the day. Dr. D. R. Arora, Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS Pinjore, Dr.(Mrs.) Bimla Arora and Dr. (Mrs.) Inderjit Singh, ex – Professor, Head of the Department, Food & Nutrition, Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana, graced the occasion with their benign presence. They lauded the efforts of the students and congratulated them for their accomplishments. The Principal, Ms. Amita Dhaka wished everyone merry Christmas and a happy new year and urged the students to be conscientious, dedicated and sincere in whatever they do.
