Cultural Exchange: South Africa Alberton Cricket Club team at DPS Pinjore

Alberton Cricket Club Team Johannesberg. South Africa visited the pristine campus of Delhi Public School Pinjore to play Under 17 Cricket series with the host team from December 14 to 16, 2010. The team enjoyed the warmth of hospitality extended by DPS Pinjore organizers during their stay. In all 2 matches were played both the matches were won by South Africa. The visitors found the students very well-behaved and the staff extremely helpful during their stay in the DPS hostel. The sumptuous meals were enjoyed by all the team members and they departed with fond and happy memories.

A visit to the famous Pinjore Garden organized for them by the host school was an added attraction for the visitors as the Heritage Festival was going on in the beautiful historical Mughal Gardens.

Such cultural exchange programmes provide a wonderful platform for different countries to come closer and help convert the world into a Global village.

The South African team after having played with DPS Pinjore is scheduled to play at Chandigarh before leaving for Delhi. Their itinerary includes a visit to the Golden Temple, Amritsar and the famous Taj Mahal at Agra.

The Delhi Public School, Pinjore Coach Mr. Ajay Bhardwaj was all praise for the South Africans and the South African Coach Mr. Albertus Laas alongwith the Team Mother Ms. Madelein Laas reciprocated his compliment saying ‘It was the most memorable and enjoyable visit for them.

Christmas Celebrations

Christmas Celebrations: Christmas was celebration with lot of gaiety and a joyful spirit in the school on 17th Dec. as the school was closing for the winter vacation on 18th Dec. The whole campus wore a festive look with buntings and bells, Santa cut- outs and beautifully decorated Christmas trees and the board displays saying “Merry Christmas”.

The children belonging to all the four houses presented western dance to the foot tapping latest numbers. A Nativity play depicting the birth of Jesus Christ left everyone mesmerized and spell bound. The melodious carols sung along ,with created a very serene atmosphere. But the moment Santa clause entered with his bag full of sweets, everyone cheered and became excited , The celebrations carried on till late in the day,. The children gave Christmas cards to the teachers and also exchanged these amongst themselves.

The principal Mr. Samson Masih congratulated the participants for putting up an impressive show he wished everyone to adopt and spread the message of love and brotherhood and also follow the values of humanity. This will be celebrating Christmas in the true spirit, he said.

DPS Pinjore Annual Function 2010

The beautifully decorated premises of Delhi Public School Pinjore was abuzz with activities as the enthusiastic dipsites celebrated their Annual Function. The mood was festive and upbeat.

The Chief Guest Sh. Paramveer Singh, Cabinet Minister, Haryana gave an auspicious beginning to the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp which was followed by Ganesh Stuti and Laxmi Vandana.

The Principal Mr. Samson Masih then formally welcomed the distinguished guests and presented the Annual report.

The theme for the Annual Function is ‘Confidence to Excel’. Which conveyed the message that every child is born with his uniqueness which needs to be identified. His uniqueness, if permitted to become his strength, can make him happy and satisfied living every moment of life. It is the paramount duty of every educational institution to encourage students to take up chosen areas of their interest so that they can excel in their respective selected fields taking every challenge with confidence.

Delhi Public School, Pinjore is doing its bit, for here we understand that there is a great need to change the mindsets- Doctors, Engineers; Lawyers are not the only professions to choose from in the 21st century. Globalization and Technical advancement has opened new avenues for the youngsters. The off-beat careers have great potential to lead a successful life. This theme was presented with the help of different art forms- Singing, Dance, Sports, prop dances, Toy dance to name a few. 100% participation by tiny tots of pre nursery to the senior children till class XII in various items, dressed in their colourful attire, left the audience spell bound and mesmerized.

Besides the cultural bonanza, this year’s scholars were honored in a Prize Distribution Ceremony, which served as a break.

The Chief Guest along with the other dignitaries also released The School Magazine-‘Window –An Overview’.
In his address to the august gathering the Honorable Chief Guest congratulated the participants and wished that they will be able to pursue their dreams since they are in the right hands at DPS Pinjore.

Mr. Amol Arora, Director Admissions, DPS Pinjore, also congratulated the DPS Family Pinjore for understanding the need of the times and selecting the most appropriate theme for the function. He praised the participants who put this idea across beautifully following the niches of various forms of expression.
The programme concluded with a Vote of thanks proposed by the Coordinator, Dr. Kiran Prabhakar.

“Live Jam” Enthralls Dipsites at Pinjore

Live Jam group from Delhi enthralled the students and staff of Delhi Public Pinjore with their Musical concert “Freedom”. A wonderful edutainment, the students were sensitized about the weaknesses which must be overcome and won over to lead a successful life. Teenage is the most vulnerable time in a person’s life. One wrong step can cause not only a lot of problems but may leave a long lasting harmful impact. Therefore it is necessary to make the right choice and learn to say “NO”to temptations. “Live Out Loud” the message of the troupe echoed in the beautiful ‘pristine surroundings of the school campus.

The performance was studded with many self composed songs presented by Mr. Daya while Mr. Bonnie Andrews and Dr. Manjit reached out to the students in a most interactive manner.

The students enjoyed the programme .They clapped, sang and applauded throughout this one and a half hour long audio and visual treat.

The Principal Mr. Samson Masih was presented a memento by the group leader Mr. Cherion John. A positive feedback by the students was a testimony to what an engaging and learning experience it was for them.
