65th Independence Day Celebration at Delhi Public School, Pinjore

65th Independence Day was celebrated with a patriotic fervor in the school premises today. The stage was decorated tastefully with appreciable sketches of the Freedom fighters Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose and Bhagat Singh, made by the student artists Achal and Jasneet of the school. The three colours of the Tricolour – orange, white and green were highlighted in the colour scheme used to provide the National spirit to the whole program. The celebrations commenced with the flag hoisting by the Principal Mr. Samson Masih who congratulated the gathering on this National Day and  asked the students to be patriotic in all their deeds by becoming disciplined, unselfish and broadminded in their approach towards life. He added that we need to work jointly for the cause so that our Nation could be included in the list of developed Nations. He said we are fortunate to be born in a free nation. We must appreciate honour this fact always.

A short cultural program was presented by the enthusiastic students. “Kranti ki mashal se, Mashal ko Desh ke Javan tu Jalae Jaa” a group song was presented by the school choir. Muskan of class VI presented a patriotic Poem while Sakshi Rao of class VIII gave a speech on the freedom struggle bringing home the significance of the Independence Day.

A Giddha the famous dance of our neighboring State Punjab was one of the main attraction of the celebration which depicted vibrant colours of our unity in diversity.

A short skit depicting concern for the burning problem of pollution was presented by Jhelum House students, which was applauded by one and all. The skit based on brotherhood by Yamuna House was successful in stealing the heart of all present. The celebrations concluded with the distribution of sweets.
