‘Green revolution is the best solution to arrest pollution
Plant a tree, green the earth, clean the air, live happily’
This message was conveyed to the students during a week long Van Mahotsav celebrations commencing from 14th July to 19th July in the school. The teachers, students, office staff and everyone in DPS Pinjore participated in this drive. To save environment is our utmost duty. We must maintain and enhance its beauty by growing trees for us and the future generation. During this week long Van Mahotsav celebrations more than 400 saplings were planted which will grow into lovely trees in time and give us fruits, plants and also keep the campus clean and green enhancing its aesthetic and natural beauty. A street play, ‘ need to revive Chipko Movement’ was enacted by the students to spread the message of growing more and more trees to make this earth more beautiful and clean.
The Principal Mr. Samson Masih exhorted the children to be instrumental in conserving and preserving the trees. The students also participated in poster making, collage making and slogan writing competitions organized during this week.
World Population Day Observed

Dipsites from Pinjore, as responsible and concerned citizens, took upon themselves to spread awareness about the problems and harmful effects of the ever-increasing population. The ever growing number of people means over use of the resources which leads to scarcity of food and also causes land air, water pollution, being a cause of unemployment, dissatisfaction, leading to violence, corruption and umpteen number of related problems that are making this world a difficult place to survive. Then how can people lead a happy, contented, peaceful, harmonious life- Its we, you and I – all, have to be a part of the drive to control the problem of over population. To convey this message, a special assembly was conducted in which students presented speeches, poems, facts to spread awareness amongst one and all.
PPTs on growing population and its effects were made by the children. Also creative writing competition on population explosion was held. Children were asked to make colourful posters. An awareness drive was taken up by the students of class XI and XII to make the people in the vicinity aware about the ill-effects of population explosion.The Principal Mr. Samson Masih addressing the students said that it has to be a joint effort of the Government and the people to curb the menace of over population and save some resources for the future generation.
A VISIT TO ECO-HOUSE BY UKG

Students of UKG enjoyed nature when they were taken on a visit to Eco-House situated in the lush green campus of the school. They were shown various plants and also shown the nursery where saplings could be seen growing from seeds. They also enjoyed watching beautiful butterflies fluttering in the arena. They were shown various fruits like bananas, mangoes and papayas growing on trees. It was a memorable experience for them.
A TALK ON “VECTOR BORNE DISEASES” BY DR. DIVYA DEEP

As instructed by the Director Health Services(Malaria), Panchkula, an informative talk was delivered by Dr. Divya Deep to make the students aware about the VECTOR BORNE DISEASES. She explained about their causes, symptoms and remedial measures to prevent these diseases. Personal prophylactic measures like use of mosquito repellents, liquids, coils were discussed. Use of wire mesh, bed nets were explained to prevent diseases like malaria, dengue, chickengunia, filariasis which are prevalent during rainy season. Importance of community participation was also explained.
MANGO PARTY & CAPRICORN PARTY CELEBRATED BY LKG

Students of LKG celebrated the Mango party &Capricorn party on 18.7.14. They came dressed in yellow Capries & T – Shirts. They brought popcorn and boiled corns along with delicious mangoes. They danced to the music and enjoyed a puppet show based on rainy season. They sang rhyme, “How does the corns go,pop,pop,pop”. The teacher explained to them about the different ways in which corn can be eaten and enjoyed. The also learned about the significance of rainy season.

With recharged energy it was just the right time to take a step towards enhancing the management skills of the students. In order to cultivate, a sense of responsibility and power to be disciplined, the members of the Student Council of D.P.S. Pinjore assembled in the school auditorium on 19th July to be sworn in during the Investiture Ceremony. Dr. D.R. Arora, Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS Pinjore & Dr. (Mrs.) Bimla Arora, member Managing Committee D.P.S. Pinjore graced the occasion with their benign presence. Rajat Mahendroo and Janvi Sharma were elected as the school Head Boy & Head Girl respectively. Besides the ceremony, the celebration was marked by an impressive dance performance of the students.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. (Mrs) Bimla Arora congratulated the Student Council members and reminded them that this ceremony is not merely showering of rankings, but with that also comes the momentous responsibility of shouldering the administration of school and extending a helping hand in organizing all the activities in the school. Council members are also to act as the role models for the others. They should work untiringly to raise the standard of the institution.
EYE CAMP ORGANISED
21st to 24th July 2014
An eye camp had been organized in collaboration with SIMPLY HEALTH PLUS by TITAN EYE PLUS, Panchkula. Eye screening for the all the students was conducted by the optometrist, Shikha Gupta. The camp was held for 4 days. Eye related problems were diagnosed and treated accordingly.
Parents Day Celebrated

‘A Parents love is whole no matter how many times divided’
Parents are synonym for unconditional love & commitment.In order to celebrate this unconditional and pure love and guidance, DPS Pinjore celebrated the Parents Day on July 22. All the children of the school thanked their parents for their beautiful gift of love and acknowledged it by conducting a special assembly. They showed their love and gratitude to their parents through speeches, self composed poems, thought, melodious songs and an impressive skit performance.Speaking on the occasion Principal Samson Masih advised the students to respect their parents and heed to their advice as they are the biggest well wisher of a child.
In order to sharpen the cognitive skills, various quizzes were organized for different classes.
To begin with, class LKG had QUIZ TIME – GENERAL QUIZ conducted on July 25, 2014. The students were divided into 3 groups. The teacher showed them props of alphabets. Each student picked one slip from the pot and spoke out two names of that selected word or alphabet. The students learned to differentiate the capital letters and small letters. They also learned to identify pictures and words.
Class UKG enjoyed WHAT I HAVE LEARNT TILL NOW- QUIZ on July 25, 2014. The class was divided into 3 teams A, B, C. Each team was asked questions based on two letter words in Hindi, English and general questions from EVS based on myself , parts of body, my school, my class, colours and rainy season.

TEACHER’S TALK ON NATIONAL LITERACY MISSION:
26th July, 2014
As per the instructions issued by the Haryana State Legal Services Authority, a talk on NATIONAL LITERACY MISSION was given by Ms Neera Gauri, HOD, Social Science Department,DPS Pinjore on 26th July in the morning school assembly. The purpose of giving this talk was to sensitize the students about the importance of literacy & the role of the NLM in spreading literacy to every nook and corner of the country. She motivated each and every student to help in this noble cause.
Honours and accolades in International Computer Olympiad-2013
International Computer Olympiad was organized by SilverZone in the month of November 2013. Many students brought laurels to the school by their marvelous performance. 55 students appeared in this prestigious competition. 6 students were awarded Gold Medal, 5 students bagged Silver Medal and 3 got Bronze Medal. 12 students qualified for the 2nd Level of competitions. Axis bank honours Umang Kumar of Class VIII
Axis bank organized an All India Level Painting Competition. Umang Kumar (class VIII) made the school proud by winning Robo –Kit as a prize for his painting. This painting will be used by the Axis Bank for its promotion.
