EACH ONE TEACH ONE: TEACHER’S TALK

As per the instructions issued by the Haryana State Legal Services Authority, an informative talk on ‘Each One Teach One’ was given by Ms. Bhavna on August 6, 2014. She explained about the Importance of literacy in the progress of a nation & one’s life. She motivated the students to adopt and practice the motto of ‘Each One Teach One’ so as to spread literacy through out the country and transform it from a developing nation to a developed one.

Times NIE ‘Think & Learn ‘Challenge conducted in DPS Pinjore

Times NIE has become synonymous with empowering students with new cutting knowledge. In order to ensure that the students ‘stay ahead’ by participating in various educative and informative activities and competitions, Times NIE in association with Byju’s classes – India’s primer teaching company, conducted ‘Think and learn’ challenge in DPS Pinjore on 7 Aug 2014.It was organized for every student from class 8, 9 &10 .The event focused on analytical and logical reasoning of the students. It was an OMR based test for 40 minutes which will be conducted in 2 rounds. All the students of class 8,9,10 participated in this fun-filled yet ‘learning through fun’ challenge. 133 students were successful in qualifying the first round. These children are among the top ten percentile of the students appearing from 120 schools all over India. The second round of the challenge was held on 31 August in Zirakpur. The school winner of the first round, Kush Singla of class 10, was felicitated here with a Samsung Tab 3. The result of the second round is still awaited.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal Mr. Samson Masih thanked the Times NIE team for their constant encouragement and enthusiasm in the field of edutainment.

Independence Day Celebrated

DPS PINJORE celebrated 68th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour & zeal. The function commenced with flag hoisting by Dr. D. R. Arora, Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS Pinjore. This was followed by an impressive cultural programme echoing national spirit. The highlight of the programme was a Dance “Sare Jahan Se Acha” performed by the young Dipsites. The students were bestowed with Scholar Badges for their academic achievements. Sweets were distributed amongst students and staff.

Remembering the freedom fighters with reverence, Dr. D. R. Arora reminded the students about their sacrifices which made it possible for us to breathe in free air and enjoy all the benefits of the citizens of an independent nation. The boundaries of world have shrunk; therefore we are not responsible only for the country but for the betterment of the whole world. Speaking on the occasion Dr. (Mrs.) Bimla Arora, Member, Management Committee, DPS Pinjore advised the students to groom their skills so as to be an asset to the Nation.

DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION, PANCHKULA HONOURS DPS PINJORE’S PRINCIPAL ON INDEPENDENCE DAY

The Administration of Haryana, Panchkula felicitated Mr. Samson Masih, the Principal of Delhi Public School, Pinjore at the Parade Ground, Sector-5, Panchkula on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations for his contribution to education and his vast teaching and administrative experience of 36 years to the noble cause of nurturing and grooming students. This award was conferred on him by Honourable Finance Minister of Haryana Shri. Harmohinder Singh.

STUDENTS FETE LORD KRISHNA’S BIRTH
August 19, 2014

Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna, was celebrated with great fervour in D.P.S, Pinjore. A special assembly was conducted to mark the occasion. Students were enlightened about values taught by Lord Krishna through their speeches and poems. They sang devotional songs in praise of Lord Krishna. Principal Samson Masih told students about the significance of Bhagwad Gita in today’s life.

SKIN CAMP ORGANISED
August 21, 2014

Dr. Rohit Bansal in collaboration with SIMPLY HEALTH PLUS conducted a camp on skin related problems in DPS, Pinjore. Around 80 students attended the camp and their problems were diagnosed. Treatments were given to them accordingly.

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME: GEOGRAPHY WORKSHOP ATTENDED (DPSS – HRD, DPS, DWARKA CAMPUS, NEW DELHI)
AUGUST 25 TO 28

The enrichment programme in geography was held on an encouraging note where senior resource experts from institutes of excellence contributed to enriching the teaching and learning experiences in a school. All shared that geography with its diverse co – relations is more important than ever to make sense of our quick changing world and its impact on our life and the environment. Geography learning is now being complemented by various devices and viewing the world of geography has become an exciting experience.

54 delegates from Delhi Public Schools all over India participated very enthusiastically and got their queries satiated.
